Everyday mechanisms become a whole little world to understand on this Montessori-inspired motor skills board. The child gets to open, turn, hook, and lock using, among other things, a door chain, carabiner, hasp, slide bolt, and cylinder lock with a key.

Gears with mini-mazes, a threaded rod with rotatable parts, and a small horn provide further variety. The ergonomic shape rests comfortably on the lap, and the handle makes the board easy to carry or hang away.
